Character Project WIP VII

Still havent gotten a whole lot of time to test out 3D coat, but its such a nice feeling being able to paint directly on the model instead of painting on photoshop then going back refreshing the texture on maya and keep going back and forth.

Also I just realized that I messed up on the chest belts, so I gotta go back and fix that up before I can continue painting on this.

Character Project WIP IV

So I decided to go ahead and start modeling this character out! The hairs been giving me a hard time, but I hope it turns out fine after texturing it.
Itll be simple geo and the rest will be hand painted in so I might be getting pretty close to finish this up.

Long time! Character project!

Its been a while!

Im going to start back this blog updating status of my small character project.

Starting from scratch from concept sketches to character sheet to 3d modeling I will be posting my WIP on this blog.

I have already started a few days ago so I will put them all together now.

First was figuring out what kind of character I wanted to make.

I really like the 3D models used in Bravely Default, so I decided that the style of character model I want to make is that of Bravely Default.

So afterwards I went back to my old character designs sketches I did and took a few and drew them out in the Braverly Default chibi style.

and I had my friends and random people choose which one they wanted to see turned into a 3D model.

B won the poll by a close margin A coming in second (just one point behind B), but I sure hope I can eventually make them all.

now the next step was figuring out the Color for this characters.

The Character is a Lancer Class and his nature is a well composed and has a very Chivalry.

We will see which one gets chosen.

TO BE CONTINUED!!!!!?

Blizzard Student Contest 2017

Even though the title says Blizzard Student contest 2017, I actually wasnt able to submit this piece in time. The website stated that it was due on Jan. 15th so I just assumed Jan 15th 11:59 pm was the due date, boy was I wrong. The cut off time was really Jan. 15h 12:01 am…so I missed it. But this is def. my fault for doing things last minute and trying to submit something at the last second. I’m glad I got the practice and a decent portfolio piece, just a little regret that I couldnt get it looked at by the industry pros at Blizzard.

Blizzard student contest WIP 02

My progress for the blizzard student art contest. The right is my first pass and the left is the second pass/refined version made after some critique and inputs.

I feel like its looking great now, so hopefully I can start texturing these soon because I have less than a month left for this project.

Wizard diffuze texture time

Remember this old man? Well I"m back to working on this model because this is part of the school assessment project so I need to finish it...The top image is the color variations I provided my team and they liked "D" for color choice so I started working with it.
The model is done so now its time for the texture!

Today in class I spent the whole day basically working on the armor part. (Shoulder/chest)
I actually like how it turned out so far, there's still more polishing to do but it looks like a great start.
